Welcome

The Beacon Hill Council (BHC) of Seattle is an  all-volunteer community organization. Our mission is to advocate for a welcoming, diverse and healthy Beacon Hill community neighborhood. See Bylaws.

Our geographic boundaries include: to the north, Interstate 90; to the west, Interstate 5; to the south, S Perry Street; and to the east, Rainier Avenue South and Martin Luther King Jr. Way South. 

We are community builders.

We provide:

  • Opportunities for our residents, business persons and property owners to improve our community, 
  • Hold open forums to discuss what is going on in our community, issues and solutions, 
  • Connect with groups, public, non-profit and for-profit agencies to work together to solve issues and/or make improvements. 

Monthly Meetings

We meet on the first Tuesday of each month, except when it’s close to a holiday, then its moved to the 2nd Tuesday of the month at the Jefferson Park Community Center located at 3801 Beacon Ave S, Seattle, WA 98108We hold the community meeting from 6:30 to 7:45, then hold the Board meeting from 8 to 8:45 pm or longer as needed.

DURING THIS COVID-19 TIME OF PHYSICAL DISTANCING, MEETINGS WILL BE HELD ELECTRONICALLY.

Topics typically include neighborhood issues such as Land Use, Business and Economic Development, Environment, Transportation, Parking, Open Space, Community Events, and other items of interest for the well-being of the community.  

Getting Involved is Easy!

Come to the meetings, volunteer or become a member.  We don’t have membership fees.  Any Beacon Hill resident, business person, property owner, governmental agencies, businesses and non-profit organizations can participate. 

Simply email BeaconHillCouncilSeattle@gmail.com to receive meeting notices. After you attend one meeting, you are considered a Beacon Hill Council community member.  The more people participate, the more we can do for our neighborhood.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors consists of up to 15 members of the community and serve a 2-year term, with officers serving a 1-year term. Board of Directors and Officers are elected at the annual meeting of the Beacon Hill Council of Seattle held in May/June every year.  Please email BeaconHillCouncilSeattle@gmail.org if you are interested in serving on a task force, committee or on the Board.
